They were arriving at 9 to shower before we checked out and headed to West Thumb together. We had friends from Seattle who were camping at Canyon, and made a deal with them that they could use our shower. Our last morning at Lake found us rushing around to get going. After dinner we walked along the lake and found a small herd of elk with babies. Later, we visited mud volcano and several Lake overlooks. We stopped for a picnic lunch and decided to head back to the cabin for a rest. Apparently when you take a sea level dweller and transport her to 8,000 feet, walking a trail just isn't the same.Īfter that embarassing debacle, I was wary of more walks. I have never been so exhausted in my life.
Like maybe I've got some sort of previously unknown physical disability kicked. We are not super athletic, but usually a walk of 3 - 5 miles is fine. The plan was to hike the south rim, from Uncle Tom's trail to Point Sublime. In the morning we had instant coffee with the electric kettle we brought (thank you Trip Advisor folks from long ago recomending the power strip) yogurt, granola and fruit. There's no cooking in the cabins, of course, but I pulled my handy-dandy folding camp table from the car, set it up in the gravel lot, well away from buildings and vegetation, and used my campstove to re-heat our chili for dinner. We got unpacked, and started setting up for dinner.
Our cabin had two queens, a small table, and a reasonable bathroom. Lake lodge cabins were nice, in a wooded area witha gravel parking lot. We saw bison, elk and got stopped in a jam for a bear (but it was gone by the time we reached the spot where it had been. We proceeded towards lake, listenting to GyPSy guide (Thanks Trip Advisor folks, from a long time ago for the recommendation) and pulling over to see sights such as the roaring mountain and the obsidian cliff. amazing! (we later determined this animal was a burrowing squirrel, or whistle pig, but that tragic revelation was days away) Right off the bat we saw our first wildlife-an animal we identified as a marmot, in the lawn at Mammoth! One of our objectives completed already. My husband drove us in as I could barely contain my excitement-I'd been planning this for three years after all! We arrived at the NW gate of Yellowstone at about 1:30. BBut its definitely worth the price of admission Go if you get the chance The temporary exhibit of Vikings we skipped because we'd literally seen the exhibit just before the pandemic in Seattle. My geology loving husband was in heaven, as was my dinosaur loving kid. We took the time to visit the Museum of the Rockies in Bozeman (Thanks Trip Advisor folks for the recommendation, ages ago) What an amazing place. Oh well, we survived.īozeman brought a much better hotel., and we were within spitting distance (practically) of Yellowstone. One of the beds was unmade, the toilet overflowed, the lobby smelled strongly of cat pee, and the smoke alarm (I noticed in the morning) had duct tape covering it-presumably to keep it from going off.
The Oxford Suites in Spokane was in a great location, but was otherwise terrible.
We skipped out of afternoon classes on the las t day. Our trip started with an early departure from oniline school. 2019 trip canceled by other circumstances.Ħ/18 Seattle-Spokane (Oxford suites hotel)Ħ/24 Coulter Bay Cabin- Old Faithful Snow Lodge CabinĦ/26 Old Faithful Snow Lodge Cabin - Mammoth CabinĦ/28 Mammoth Cabin-Bozeman (Comfort Suites)Ħ/29 Bozeman-Spokane (Historic Davenport) 6.Have a fun, memorable road trip to Yellowstone and Grand Teton parks, Leaving the day school gets out. If you're looking for a fun action film with amazing action sequences, this is it. Overall, if you're looking for a smart spy thriller like the first film, this ain't it. However, I do like that the character now has absolutely amazing skills in hand to hand combat.
MISSION IMPOSSIBLE 5 CDA MOVIE
In this movie he doesn't seem as serious about his job. Even the character of Ethan Hunt, though still played by Tom Cruise, is different. It just didn't fit in with the first film. The movie was still immensely entertaining. This Mission: Impossible is just a bland shoot 'em up action film. I liked the first Mission: Impossible better because it had a more advanced plot. In this movie, Ethan Hunt is once again a secret agent, and he is sent on a mission to stop a crooked agent from stealing a deadly virus for his own use. Now, all there is to do is sit back and watch those classic John Woo action sequences. Everything to do with the plot is laid out for us basically right away. Since John Woo, who is one of the kings of the action genre, took over for Brian De Palma, you can expect Mission: Impossible II to be an intense action movie with a majorly dumbed down plot. Mission: Impossible was a fast paced espionage thriller that actually made you think, which is what I like in a movie.
